A New Generation of Governing – Aaron Iturralde Is All In
LANSING, Mich. – Today Aaron Iturralde announced his candidacy to be the 74th District representative in the Michigan House.
“We need fresh eyes on the problems facing working and middle-class people. I share the lived experiences of our community, and I am in this because I want to give my neighbors in Delhi Township and south Lansing a relentless voice in the Capitol,” Iturralde said. “It shouldn’t be this hard. You work hard and play by the rules, but yet, everyday necessities keep getting more expensive. Whether you’re a third shifter or are an opener, working to get your kids on the bus before clocking in, or getting off just in time to make the ball game, the paychecks just don’t hit like they used to. The struggles of ourselves and our neighbors are real and I simply will not allow our community to live like this any longer.”
Aaron Iturralde is a public school social studies teacher, a union member, a Michigan State University alumni and a proud son of immigrants. He intimately understands what investments need to be made in our public schools, experienced the consequences of weak gun legislation and knows what it’s like to have to choose between everyday necessities.
“I am not afraid to ask the hard questions, and I’m not afraid to stand against corporate interests. I can’t be bought. I am in this because I want to serve my neighbors – not because it makes sense as a career move,” Iturralde continued. “This campaign is about ensuring working families have everything they need to not just survive, but thrive. Making sure our streets are safe, that folks in our community have a place to call home, that you don’t have to choose between rent and a medical bill and a campaign where you can afford to dream.”
